Lady Marmalade opened her doors to the public in March 2016. About time too, I say – the world is a better place for this delightful Kirup cafe owned and run by Lynlee Rutter.
It’s truly a family affair though, as teenage daughter Georgia graces front-of-house with aplomb, son Will (10) has people begging for his nutella doughnuts, and FIFO husband Gary does an astonishing fried chicken burger when he’s in town.
I’ve had the pleasure of photographing – and sampling – Lynlee’s food a number of times now, and this girl can cook!
The cafe serves Perth’s Grouch & Co coffee to complement their beautiful house baked goods and cakes, as well as a seasonal sit down menu including all day breakfast; and Lynlee specialises in bespoke cakes, dessert bars and high tea. And did I mention her Pies? Yes, they are worthy of a capital P.
It’s worth checking out their Facebook page to keep up-to-date with the goings on at Lady Marmalade – they often do special theme nights on a Friday and are currently having Summer Sunday sessions with live music from 4-7pm.
(I couldn’t resist including the picture of Asha the cat who photobombed us one day while we were shooting cakes and meringues at Lynlee’s home)
